In the present work, the aim is to increase the availability of hydraulic equipment in a comprehensive equipment repair company for the mining industry in Peru. Root causes and factors affecting the decrease in their revenue were identified. In this regard, a poor execution of the maintenance plan was observed; reasons such as excessive overtime in the identification, repair, and inactivity of the equipment were noted. The current availability of the company is 78.11%, representing a gap of 11.89% compared to the sector. Tools were proposed, supported by literature review such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), which consists of 7 stages aimed at preventing critical failures in equipment systems and reducing downtime and delays in repairs. Additionally, the Kaizen methodology was applied in a cycle of continuous improvement (PDCA) to diagnose the causes affecting the availability and delivery times of critical spare parts, using the list provided by RCM as input. Based on the implementation, a 4-month pilot test was conducted using a simulation of the first year in the Arena Software. The results showed a decrease in Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), resulting in a direct increase in availability. In the first year, availability increased from 78.11% to 85%, and a target availability of 90% is expected to be achieved in the next 2 years.
