The present research aimed to implement a semantic search engine for increased efficiency in search results on terms of Amazonian biodiversity and was conducted during the period from January to December 2014. The research belongs to the quantitative descriptive and quasi-experimental design the population consisted of 250 students of the Faculty of Biological Sciences, National University of the Peruvian Amazon and the sample was represented by 50 students chosen for convenience, the technique used in data collection was the survey and the instrument the questionnaire. Data processing is done manually and computerized using SPSS version 16.0 in Spanish. The analysis and interpretation of the data was performed using descriptive statistics, average rate and inferential statistics t – student. For the testing of the main hypothesis inferential statistical test was applied parametric t - student, obtaining t calculated = −7.524, critical value = −1.895 with degrees of freedom = 7, error level of 5% = 0.05, then > rejecting the null hypothesis ( ) and the alternative hypothesis is accepted ( ) and the conclusion was that with the implementation of a semantic search engine is significantly increased efficiency in search results on Amazonian biodiversity in students of Biological Sciences, National University of the Peruvian Amazonia in 2014.
