The purpose of this research thesis is to enhance the physical and mechanical properties of the industrialized King Kong 18-hole brick, optimizing its features according to the cold climate of our region. The study analyzed the physical (dimensional variation, warping, suction, absorption, and thermal conductivity) and mechanical (compressive strength) characteristics of bricks measuring 9cm x 13cm x 24cm. These were manufactured using clay, sand, black soil, and water, with variations in component proportions compared to the traditional industrialized brick of the company (Clay 30% - Sand 50% - Black Soil 20%). Different percentages of clay were incorporated in the proposed formulations (Dosage No. 1 to No. 5), guided by the composition of the traditional industrialized brick and literature review. The production of masonry units took place at Ladrillos Muralla S.R.L., utilizing the company's equipment, industrial machinery, and materials. Tests on materials such as gradation and Atterberg limits followed the specifications of Peruvian technical standards (NTP 400.012-2013 and NTP 339.129.1998). Tests on bricks, including dimensional variation, warping, suction, absorption, and compressive strength, were conducted according to the Peruvian technical standard (NTP 399.613-2017 MASONRY UNITS. Overall, NTP.070). The thermal conductivity test adhered to ASTM C177-13 specifications, with a total of 120 masonry units subjected to testing. In conclusion. It was found that the most favorable results were presented by the masonry units with dosage No. 5 (+5% sand), presenting the average thermal conductivity value of less than 0.3328 W/(m*°K) and the traditional dosage presents the highest average value of compressive strength was 274.1 kg/cm2 and satisfactorily complying with the other tests according to NTP.070.
