Objective: The objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between the nutritional status and the risk of dental caries in children aged 3 to 5 years old of three initial educational institutions of the district of Ccorca - Cusco, 2019. Material and methods: This research has a level of descriptive-correlational research, is quantitative, observational and transversal. Made up of a population of 49 children from three initial educational institutions in the district of Ccorca. The sample was not probabilistic, for consecutive cases with a total of 49 children. The technique to determine the nutritional status was through the measurement of the weight and height of the children, with which their nutritional status was determined and the technique to determine the risk of dental caries was the ceod index. Informed consent was requested for data collection in compliance with all ethical standards. For the data analysis, a systematization matrix was used, the descriptive analysis was performed and for the relationship between the variables: the analysis was bi varied, we worked with a level of significance of 0.05. Results: The low, moderate and high risks of caries are not linked to the nutritional status. According to Kendall's Tau c statistical test, this association was not significant p> 0.05 (p = 0.300) means that the risk of caries is not associated with nutritional status. Conclusion: No relationship was found between the nutritional status and the risk of dental caries since dental caries is a pathology that has different factors that can contribute to its development. The caries risk found in the study population was between low and medium cariogenic risk.
