The present research work contemplates the project of a new integral system of conveyor belts and chains and is located in a port terminal. On December 1, 2014. Pagroin S.A was awarded the contract by Terminales Portuarios S.A. for the construction of the new integral system of conveyor belts and chains. The project consists of four stages: Project Management, Procurement, Construction and Testing. The project started on December 5, 2014 and ended on January 9, 2016. The project's cost budget is $ 3, 441,733.63. Pagroin S.A. will develop the project as the responsible constructor and its strategy will be focused on the high specialization and the availability of resources, in general in the disciplines of mechanics, electricity & automation and civil works. The construction of the project, with regard to mechanical discipline will be in charge of Pagroin S.A., while the service contractors will be responsible for everything related to the disciplines of electricity & automation and civil works. The Port Terminals client S.A. requests Pagroin S.A. use the good practices of the PMBOK® Fifth Edition guide. Pagroin S.A considers this project as an opportunity to increase its income in order of 20% per year, increase in 5% the return on investment (ROI) and the improvement of internal processes among others. The project was successful in meeting the objectives related to scope, time, cost and quality. The client approved the compliance of the project and Pagroin S.A achieved the expected results in terms of return on investment (ROI) and increased revenues. The financial indicators obtained were TIR = 1.74%, VAN = $ 850,511 and a 15-month payback
