The objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between teaching strategies and academic performance in students of classroom 8 of the School of the National Police, Puente Piedra, Lima, 2017. The investigation carried out was quantitative approach, of a non-experimental type, of a correlational and cross-sectional design. The population for the investigation consisted of 243 students, of which took a sample of 33 students from room 8 of the Police School of Peru, through stratified probability sampling. The instrument used was the questionnaire of learning strategies and grades from the 2017 academic year were used to measure academic performance. These data were processed through the program statistical SPSS 22. As a result of the analysis, it was identified that the students use learning strategies in a differentiated way, being the students who have higher learning achievements, those who use the most. When performing the hypothesis test applying Pearson's statistics, it has been found that there is a direct and significant, the calculated error (8.1591E-13) was lower than the established one (0.05). Therefore, it accepted the existence of a correlation. Furthermore, the correlation coefficient (0.901614) is a positive and high relationship. Then, the formulated hypothesis was accepted.
