The objective of this research work is to know the level of relationship that exists between the use of social networks and the self-esteem of high school students of Educational Institution No. 16520 Ricardo Palma, San Ignacio, Cajamarca, 2023. Social networks and digital media have deeply impacted the values of our society, transforming appearances, status and idealizing a perfect life. In the methodological aspect, this research had a quantitative approach, descriptive-correlational level, non-experimental design, the collection of information was at a single moment. Regarding the study population, all students in the fourth and fifth grades of secondary school were considered, which are approximately 42 students, this being the sample. It is concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between social networks and the self-esteem of high school students of the Educational Institution No. 16520 Ricardo Palma, San Ignacio, Cajamarca, 2023, with a value determined with the statistical test called Spearman's Rho. 0.746 with a significance level of 0.001
