The objective of this research work was the present study reports the research carried out on the existing association between the motivation for teaching and the labor procrastination of the teaching staff of the San Juan de Lurigancho branch of a private university. The sample stratified was made up of 114 professors of the propaedeutic cycles, who were randomly selected. The research had a quantitative approach, corresponded to the basic correlational type and had a cross-sectional design. The instruments used for the data collection were: the Motivation Scale for Teaching and the Scale Procrastination at Work. Both measuring instruments were corroborated in validity of content through expert judgment and its quantification with the coefficient of Aiken validity, and, in reliability with Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The treatment The statistical analysis of the data was carried out with the stanones scale for the descriptive analysis, and with Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient for inferential analysis. The The results found showed that the variable motivation for teaching and four of its dimensions (intrinsic motivation, identified regulation motivation, built-in regulation motivation and external regulation motivation) registered a high inverse correlation with the labor procrastination of the surveyed teachers, while the lack of motivation for teaching had a high positive association with the labor procrastination of the sample participants. The findings were statistically significant at a probability level of p<0.05.
