The objective of this research work is to present the main problem: To what extent do metacognitive strategies influence the optimization of autonomous learning in students of Cycle I of Undergraduate Communication Sciences at San Martín de Porres University, Year 2019? And as a main objective to determine how metacognitive strategies influence the optimization of autonomous learning in students of Cycle I of Undergraduate Communication Sciences of the San Martín de Porres University, Year 2019. The population consisted of 30 students of cycle I of Undergraduate in Communication Sciences from the University of San Martín de Porres, 2019 and the sample acquired a census characteristic, since the entire population was used for research, concluding that there is a direct and significant relationship between metacognitive strategies and the optimization of autonomous learning in students of Cycle I of Undergraduate Communication Sciences of the San Martín de Porres University, Year 2019.
