The objective of this research work was to establish the relationship between reading comprehension and academic performance in the Adult I subject in Nursing students at the San Pedro University. Reading comprehension is a transcendental topic in the professional training of nursing students since it helps to improve their academic performance. The methodology of this study is quantitative, descriptive and non-experimental because the variables did not present any manipulation, with a descriptive, correlational and transectional design, because the study was done at a single moment. The study sample included 30 students; A questionnaire and two instruments have been developed for the variable: reading comprehension and an objective test for the variable: academic performance; They are then confirmed by expert evaluation and then implemented. The data obtained were analyzed using the tables and the hypotheses were demonstrated. The data obtained were subjected to SPSS 25 statistical software, with the following general results being obtained: The link in both reading comprehension and academic performance is significant in the Adult I signature of Nursing students at the San Pedro University. , as demonstrated by testing the population hypothesis (p-value or asymptotic signal (two-sided) = 0.000, less than 0.05) and confirmed in the tables and images.
