The study set as a general objective to establish the relationship between the family social climate and the social skills of students at the secondary level of the Gustavo Escudero Otero state educational institution, district of Tambillo, Ayacucho, in the period 2019. The research had a quantitative approach, the design was descriptive correlational and the type of research was basic. 144 students from all grades of the secondary level were studied. The collection of information was carried out applying the Family Environment Scale for Adolescents, and the Social Skills Assessment System-Student test. In establishing the content validity and reliability of the instruments, the Aiken Coefficient of Validity and the Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient were used. Data processing was done with frequency and percentage tables, and Spearman's Rho coefficient. The results found indicated that there was a high positive correlation between the family social climate and the social skills of the students surveyed. Similarly, it was observed that the same magnitude and form of the relationship was found between the family social climate and the dimensions of communication, cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, involvement and empathy of social skills. Except for the self-control dimension of the students that had a moderate degree of relationship with their perception of the family social climate. The findings were significant at a probability level of 0.01.
