The objective of this research work is to determine the influence of the Esperanza program on the academic stress of students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of History and Geography of the Enrique Guzmán y Valle National University of Education, 2016. The variables that were tested were: the hope program and academic stress. The type of research was basic with a quantitative approach and experimental design. To measure academic stress, the Sisco Academic Stress Inventory was used, which was adapted to 29 questions and as for the measurement instrument for the Esperanza program, it was carried out through metacognitive activities that were carried out during six sessions and were measured. through an observation sheet. The validity of these instruments was carried out by expert judgment from the Graduate School of this university. For this study, 60 students were considered as sample and population, which were divided in a non-probabilistic way into experimental and control groups. The study hypotheses were verified using the Student's T statistic with the SPSS-26 program; reaching the conclusion that the Esperanza program significantly influences the academic stress of the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of History and Geography of the National University of Education Enrique Guzmán y Valle, 2016.
