Parenting practices are a dynamic process, influenced by cultural factors; These in turn have a direct influence on the development of personality. Although there is currently abundant research that identifies the negative or positive results of certain parenting practices on the personality and emotional states of children, the use of parenting practices related to anxiety or depression disorders, among others, is still evident. In Peru, for example, according to the MINSA, these disorders increased by almost 20% during 2022, as well as the abuse syndrome, abuse directed mainly at children and adolescents. This study proposes the validation of an exploratory model that establishes a possible relationship between the use of certain parenting practices and personality, and tests this model in three different samples. To validate the model, structural equations were used. The results indicated a good fit of the general model, as well as for each of the places of origin of the sample. In the three groups, it was found that the parenting style most practiced by both the mother and the father is emotional warmth, and the least practiced is rejection. However, for the Peruvian sample, higher levels of neuroticism were evident related to the rejecting parenting practice of both parents.
