The Articulated Nutritional Program (ANP) is a public policy that seeks to reduce chronic childhood malnutrition. The national prevalence of this disease has decreased in recent years. However, differences persist in their regional distribution. The departments with the largest rural population have high rates, such as Apurímac, where its prevalence is above the national average. Objective: Evaluate the efficiency of the budget execution of the ANP, in Apurímac, period 2012-2019. Materials and methods: A descriptive and retrospective evaluation study was carried out in which 4 indicators were measured (efficiency in product achievement, cost efficiency, global efficiency and aspects that influenced the ANP). Results: It was found that, in Apurímac during 2012 to 2019, the ANP did not manage to provide the products according to plan (low efficiency in achievement) and the unit expenditure executed was higher than the programmed unit budget (low efficiency in cost) in most products and evaluation years. Which led to low overall efficiency in all products, except for Care of ARI (Acute respiratory infection) with complications. Conclusion: This poor performance was related to the intersectoral and intergovernmental disarticulation, the high turnover of managers, the disinterest and lack of knowledge of parents about chronic malnutrition, limited offer of health services with an intercultural approach and lack of resources to carry out extramural activities.
