The present research called: “Replacement of a battery-powered locomotive with a trolley to improve productivity in the haulage of Mina Poderosa, 2024”, pursues the main objective of increasing the productivity of the hauling variables from the implementation of the locomotive-based system. replacing the battery-based system. The problem is subscribed at the operational level in the Company Minera Poderosa, in the Santa María Productive Unit and at level 2120. The productivity of hauling will be measured through the indicators of operating costs (OPEX), number of trips, delivery time. haulage and haulage tonnage. The study population is represented by all the hauling systems present in the Santa María Productive Unit of Company Minera Poderosa for the year 2024, the study sample subscribes to the hauling system that is operational at level 2120 of the aforementioned Unit. Productive. The type of research is Applied with a longitudinal Experimental design and a quantitative approach. The results obtained were reduction in the transportation cost from $2.04/TMH to $1.44/TMH, achieving a saving of $0.60/TMH. An increase was recorded in the monthly average of hauled tonnage, from 953.67 TMH in December 2023 to 1,364.00 TMH in January 2024. An increase in effective hauling hours from 15.9 hr with a battery-powered locomotive to 17.1 hr with a battery-powered locomotive. trolley. The present investigation concluded that the replacement of a battery powered locomotive with a trolley is beneficial at an operational level for the productivity of hauling, optimizing the OPEX, number of trips, cycle time and hauling tonnage in the Santa María Operating Unit of Company Minera Poderosa
