ABSTRACT This thesis was carried out with the objective of analyzing the influence of soft skills on the academic performance of incoming students of the Professional School of Social Work. For this reason, this research has the specific objectives of determining the levels of academic performance and the influence of soft skills. For this, the research had a population and sample of 29 students, and inductive-deductive, synthetic analytical and statistical methods were used. Likewise, interview, survey and bibliographic review techniques were applied; as well as interview guide, questionnaire and scale instruments, in order to obtain the quantitative and qualitative data that allowed the analysis of the variables. According to the analysis carried out, it was concluded that the presence of soft skills significantly influences the level of academic performance of the students. This is evident in the number of students who have these skills such as leadership and teamwork, since having these skills keeps their grades at an advanced level, which is evident in 86% of students. I achieved grades between 14 to 17 and 14% with grades of 18 to 20, which are typical of a university level.
