The present study aimed to specify the relationship between environmental education and the ecological footprint in students of the Faculty of Social Sciences at a Public University of Lima, during the period 2019-2. It corresponds to a basic type research, with a quantitative approach, the method used was the hypothetical deductive, descriptive correlational level and the non-experimental cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 1105 students, the sample was 286 and the sampling was simple random probability. Surveys and questionnaires were used as data collection techniques and instruments for the two variables. The questionnaire that measures environmental education showed validity by expert judgment and reliability through Cronbach's Alpha (0.859); while the questionnaire to measure the ecological footprint was standardized by the Global Footprint Network. The results showed that the students possess, in a large percentage (92.7%), a high level of environmental education, as well as in the cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions. Regarding the ecological footprint, the results show that the majority of students have a high ecological footprint (3,865 hag) compared to the national and international average. It was concluded that environmental education has a significant relationship with the ecological footprint (pvalor = 0.001 <0.05) in students of the Faculty of Social Sciences at a Public University of Lima, during the period 2019-2.
