The gold Mining Unit in Peru, to extend its useful life of operation for the extraction of gold in open pit needs to develop engineering studies that allow it to manage environmental permits and construction. This is why is important to have such studies, arising the need to develop the project "Feasibility and Expansion Detail Engineering for Mining Unit" by a company, specializing in Mining Consulting. In the Engineering Development Stage by the Mining Consultant, the significant problem that affects both the cost and schedule during development was identified, causing important variations in the project. The research proposes to develop a Project Management Plan, applying a hybrid approach (combination of predictive and adaptative approaches), to develop engineering studies. The proposal details the project management plan for a predictive approach in each project phase: fieldwork and laboratory tests, feasibility engineering, and detail engineering tasks. For the adaptive approach, various tools and techniques have been developed to implement in the work breakdown structure (WBS); N-4.3.5 Facility 5, in its Detail Engineering development phase. The research work will allow the project to be managed more efficiently in terms of scope, cost, and time, enabling the early delivery of deliverables that generate value for the project, avoiding rework, delays, and low-quality deliverables.
