The purpose of this thesis is to design a mathematical model that allows determining the optimal duration of an advertising campaign that maximizes the effectiveness of educational services in public universities in the country considering the behavior of the Peruvian consumer. To do this, information is collected from the three main public universities in the country of their respective educational services and the concept of decision calculation is applied, identifying the input parameters of the designed mathematical model, which allowed the two opposing forces consciousness to be modeled as a function of time. (A) and urgency (U) that affect the response of the public (R) to an advertising campaign which multiplied by the net price (M - D) and a conversion coefficient (c) allow after optimizing, calculating the time optimal (t*) that maximizes the effectiveness (π) of the campaign in question. Subsequently, a simulation and comparative analysis is carried out, regarding the results obtained from the efficacy applying the logistic function developed in the present study regarding the exponential function of Hanna et al (2005) and the hyperbolic tangent function of Chiang et al (2011) verifying that the highest efficiency is obtained with the logistic function. This means an important finding in the study of the optimal duration of an advertising campaign, which allows directors who organize educational services to have a decision instrument that avoids unnecessary advertising expenses, which represents a significant cost in the budget for educational service of universities.
