Heap leaching of oxidized ore is the most important hydrometallurgical method for Au extraction. The ore is stacked, at heights of 10 meters per level, reaching heights of up to 150 meters, as final stacking allowed under geotechnical design. Over time the mineralization changes, generating problems of recovery of the valuable mineral (Au and Ag) in the leaching heap, leading to an increase in the inventory of valuable Au and Ag elements in the lower levels, which is difficult to recover by conventional drip irrigation. Focused irrigation by injection wells with cyanide solution is an opportunity to recover accumulated inventory of Au and Ag ounces, avoiding dilution with the upper levels and obtaining savings in cyanide consumption. To support the feasibility of the project of irrigation by injection with cyanide solution, a 60m deep test well was built and a system of slotted and solid PVC pipes was installed, allowing horizontal filtration with a lateral irrigation radius of up to 20 m; collecting the rich solution, which will be used to quantify the contribution of Au ounces. Finally, with the information obtained from the test well, the project of irrigation by injection with cyanide solution for the recovery of the inventory of the valuable Au and Ag mineral begins to be executed, reaching to build a total of 80 production wells in the Leaching Pad with a depth of 40m in the course of a year. A production of 110,428 ounces of Au was recovered, of the 47,351 ounces of recoverable Au that were placed in the Leach Pad, which represents 57% more than those produced during that year.
