The purpose of this research work is to improve the electromechanical design of an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with a Dissolved Air Flotation System (DAF) to reduce the pollutant load of agroindustrial effluents through the analysis of the DAF system and a Additional secondary treatment, as well as consider the troublesome of industrial wastewater dumping in the agro-industrial sector originated in the production of fresh and frozen foods, such as avocado and mango. The discharge of industrial wastewater not properly monitored causes high levels of pollutant load in receiving bodies such as rivers, lakes, seas or for own use where they are generally discharged. The high pollutant load is due to organic residues produced in the handling of raw materials, use of chemical substances in the processing of raw materials, disinfection of utensils, machinery and cleaning of environments used in the production process. The electromechanical design of the WWTP with the DAF system will be analyzed and the improvement through the design and electromechanical selection of equipment for an additional Secondary Treatment system, with aerated lagoons, surface aerators, clarifying settling tank with sludge return and a dosing system of chlorine at the effluent outlet to increase the efficiency of removal of the remaining pollutant load originating at the outlet of the DAF system and to take advantage of the treated water for reuse in agricultural irrigation, complying with environmental quality standards and minimizing the environmental impact of effluent discharge originated in agro-industrial processes.
