ABSTRACT Gloria S.A Cajamarca branch has a poor environmental management system and not aligned with international standards so the company no longer perceives the benefits they provide. For this reason the research aims to improve the environmental management system (EMS) in the company, detecting its weaknesses through the requirements with guidance to the use of ISO 14000 family of standards: Based on the present to favor the company. As the main tool of the variable, the checklist of ISO 14001: 2004 is used for a diagnosis of the initial situation of the company in terms of percentages and to visualize the compliance with this standard, as well as the dimensions that the environmental management system In ISO 14001: 2004, that is to say, percentage of compliance in general requirements (54%), environmental policy (60%), planning (34.05%), implementation and operation %) In this way to develop a manual in the environmental management system to meet the objectives that are presented to 100% if possible, where different formats and methods are presented to assist in their implementation. (100%), environmental policy (100%), planning (75.47% of staff costs), implementation and operation (90.71%), verification (89.28%), revision (100%). With the implementation of the environmental management system based on the ISO 14001: 2004 standard, the system management was improved to 35% and the sales revenue benefit increased by 9.8%.
