Objective: To determine the level of knowledge for the prevention of diabetes in students of a school in Puente Piedra. Methods: An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in a group of students from the 3092 KUNAMOTO I school, Puente Piedra, Lima. Peru. 60 high school students participated. The level of knowledge about definition, symptoms and signs, diagnosis and treatment of the disease was assessed. The survey technique and the questionnaire were used as a measuring instrument. Spearman's rho test was performed for independent groups. These tests were performed to assess whether or not there were significant differences between the groups. A significance level of 0.05 was accepted for refuting the null hypothesis. Results: The level of general knowledge had a score of 100% ± 0%.When evaluating the level of knowledge according to dimensions, it was found that in the questions related to the “definition” an average 71.7% ± 28.3% was obtained and in the questions related to the “treatment” an average of 75% ± 25 %. Conclusions: The level of knowledge found in students enrolled in school 3092 KUNAMOTO I, Puente Piedra, Lima. Peru during 2021 had an average of 100%considered bad.
