The research analyzes the most relevant precedents of the plastic sector worldwide and in Peru, evidencing the importance of increasing efficiency in the production line to reduce unnecessary costs due to the generation of waste and unproductive times. The study carried out in a Peruvian MYPE that manufactures and markets plastic bags nationwide has shown an overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of 69.60%, unlike its potential competitors who maintain it on the verge of 85%, this is due to because in its production line there is an increase in machine downtime and reprocessing. For this reason, an improvement proposal is prepared with a focus on the 5's Methodology tools, Process Standardization and Autonomous Maintenance, which allows the reorganization of workflows, the acquisition of technical knowledge to preserve the useful life of the equipment. and the reduction of operational errors by having standardized procedures within the reach of all those involved. The integration of the tools will be measured and evaluated using the Availability, Performance and Quality indicators, fundamental components of the OEE. The proposed design is validated and simulated by the Arena software, demonstrating the increase in OEE from 69.60% to 86.49%. In conclusion, the application and development of Lean Manufacturing tools in the organization guarantees economic, social, and environmental viability in the manufacturing sector.
