The professional proficiency work focused on an improvement project executed in a metalworking company in Lima, Peru, specialized in the repair of hydraulic cylinders. Low compliance in repair deliveries was identified as the main problem. The objective of this work was to quantify improvements in the punctuality of deliveries through recommendations based on the study carried out. A methodology was used that included documentary analysis and field work. An economic impact of 1,502 million soles was estimated, representing 4.80% of income. For the development of the project, Lean Manufacturing tools were applied such as the value flow map, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), based on the pillars of planned maintenance and autonomous maintenance, and the 5S methodology. These made it possible to identify and address deficiencies in the assembly and hydraulic testing processes. The implementation of the 5S methodology showed improvements in audits, with an initial score of 1.33, considered poor, which improved to 3.48. In addition, the simulation with Arena revealed 80.11% delivery compliance, an improvement of 23.68% compared to the initial state, and 89.79% quality effectiveness, exceeding the current state by 4.79%. Cycle time is also reduced by 22.4 minutes, demonstrating significant improvements and economic benefits for the company.
