The lack of road connectivity in Ica has been a constant concern for both residents and local authorities, limiting the economic and social development of the region. The prioritization of river defenses over bridges has aggravated this problem, neglecting the basic connectivity needs of the population and reflecting poor urban planning. This situation highlights the importance of more comprehensive planning that considers both protection against natural disasters and basic infrastructure needs to guarantee the well-being of the population. The Ocucaje district is a clear example of the impacts of this lack of investment in bridges. Its residents face daily difficulties in accessing basic services and participating in commercial and social activities in other areas of the region, which has generated isolation that hinders their progress and development. To address this situation, a detailed study has been proposed for the design and comparison of two types of bridges in Ocucaje-Ica, following the guidelines of the AASHTOO-LRDF 2014 standard. The bridge will have two sections and will have a length of 30m. Two design approaches will be explored, based on isostatic and hyperstatic beams, using concrete reinforcement to ensure structural safety and stability. This project seeks not only to be a technical solution, but also a catalyst for the socioeconomic development of the region. Improving road connectivity in Ocucaje will facilitate access to employment, education and healthcare opportunities, promoting local commerce and reducing disparities and isolation that have limited the region's growth
