Abstract: La maternidad es una etapa en la vida de las mujeres que suele estar ligada al cumplimiento de responsabilidades y expectativas sobre los roles que se espera de una madre. En este escenario, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo relacionar el estrés académico y el nivel de sobrecarga de roles en madres universitarias de Lima Metropolitana. Este estudio fue de tipo cuantitativo con diseño correlacional controlado y de estrategia asociativa. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el Inventario SISCO del estrés académico (Barraza, 2007) y el Test de Sobrecarga de roles (Anticona & Arana, 2018). Participaron en esta investigación 156 mujeres universitarias y madres con edades entre 18 a 30 años de Lima Metropolitana. Entre los hallazgos se obtuvo una relación positiva, moderada y significativa entre las dimensiones de Valoración (r = .73) y Presentación (r = .61), ambas pertenecientes a la variable Estrés académico, mientras que una asociación negativa y baja entre la dimensión Estrategias (r = -.42) y la variable Sobrecarga de Roles. Se concluyó que sí existe correlación significativa entre el estrés académico y la sobrecarga de roles en madres universitarias de Lima Metropolitana.
Maternity is a stage in the life of women that is usually linked to the fulfillment of responsibilities and expectations about the roles expected of a mother. In this scenario, the objective of this research was to relate academic stress and the level of role overload in university mothers in Metropolitan Lima. It has a controlled correlational design and associative strategy. The instruments used were the SISCO Inventory of academic stress (Barraza, 2005) and the Role Overload Test (Anticona & Arana, 2018). 156 university mothers between the ages of 18 and 30 from Metropolitan Lima participated in this research. Among the results, a positive, moderate, and significant relationship was obtained for the dimensions of Assessment (r = .73) and Presentation (r = .61), both from Academic Stress variable, while a negative and low association for the dimension of Strategies (r = -.42) and the variable Role Overload. It is concluded that there are significant connections between academic stress and role overload in university mothers in Metropolitan Lima.
