A government institution in Costa Rica monitors the country ' s imports, exports and trade routes, which are subject to risks of smuggling, inaccurate documentation, damage to containers and product deterioration; these risks may not be identified because the Ministry of Finance has several systems that do not share information with each other and there was no automated tool for managing these risks. As a solution to this problem, it was proposed to implement a system that automates the communication functions between existing systems and process risk management. This system was designed taking into account the need for high availability, due to the fact that it must be implemented at the various customs control points. The system design uses cloud concepts and tools such as high availability clusters, microservices and SPAs, which helped the institution's digital transformation process by digitizing documents using the OCR module and implementing the Workflow, Forms Engine, Document Repository and Digital Signature modules. The use of these modules significantly reduced the use of the institution's physical records. This project had a planned duration of ten months and eighteen days, which had to be extended by one month for delivery. At the end of the project, the system was deployed in production environments and functional tests were conducted to validate its capabilities and those of the production environment.
