The textile industry worldwide is one of the most important for the economic development of various countries, because it provides a high rate of income and employability. In Peru, this sector is one of the most important for the development of the national economy, since it generates more than 391,000 jobs and makes up 6.9% of manufacturing GDP. However, a key point about this sector is that it is made up 99.9% of MYPES companies, of which 82.4% are informal. These are characterized by a lack of implementation of agile methodologies, lack of standardization and automation of their processes and non-compliance with security regulations that do not allow them to take advantage of their maximum level of efficiency. This affects the growth of these companies and consequently the textile sector. Currently, we have multiple methodologies and tools that allow us to reduce these problems and thereby generate optimization in the performance of their processes in companies. Some of the methodologies with the greatest application potential are Lean Manufacturing and Systematic Layout Planning, which enable a reduction of activities that do not add value to the process and the optimization of the distribution of productive areas. For this case study, we will seek to simultaneously implement tools such as 5S, SMED and SLP in order to increase efficiency rates in a Peruvian textile company.
