In recent years, the mass consumption sector has faced a constantly changing environment, taking as its starting point the time of the pandemic and its effect on consumer behavior. For this reason, the growth of the sector has been stagnant, affecting the average purchase ticket. In addition to this, it faces increased logistics costs; This being 16% of the value of sales; positioning Peru as the second country with the highest logistics cost. Given the points mentioned, it is of great importance to avoid reprocessing in order not to increase logistics costs, directly affecting the profitability of the company. Therefore, in this work the efficient management of processes and inventories is proposed through the implementation of DMAIC with the purpose of reducing the incidence of rejected orders, focusing on the Pet Food line, which represents 25% of the company's gross profit. The purpose of the improvement proposal is to guarantee the accuracy of inventories, locations and picking precision through efficient process and correctly trained personnel. As a result of the validation of the designed proposal, a 96% Inventory Record Accuracy, a 98% Location Record Accuracy and a 3% reduction in man-hours used for the picking process were obtained, so It is of great relevance to apply the proposed model to the other critical categories at the level of profitability for the company.
