In recent years, the personnel transportation sector has had extensive growth at a global and national level due to the needs of companies to outsource their transportation processes for their workers, for this reason the dangers and risks associated with this process had increased, causing serious consequences such as worker injuries and economic losses. The company under study is no exception since it offers its personnel transportation services as a mining contractor. Likewise, in the last 3 years there has been an increase in work accidents, manifested through the increase in the level of accidents based on their frequency and severity, exceeding the maximum limit of 10 accidents per year, which in turn has economically affected to the company, where costs due to workplace accidents represented 7.01% of losses in its annual turnover, mainly due to penalties for non-compliance with safety and health at work during 2022 The objective of this work is to minimize the level of accidents in a mining personnel transport company by applying(Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and 5S methodologies. To achieve this objective, the causes of work accidents were analyzed during 2022., revealing inadequate discipline and poor order and cleanliness as the main basic causes; and on which the continuous improvement tools that are BBS and 5S were applied through a pilot executed from January to July 2023 in the company, both models appropriate to the problem and type. of organization under study. The results obtained were a decrease in the accident rate through the minimization of accidents. Finally, it is concluded that the application of the BBS and the 5S minimize the level of accidents in a company that transports mining personnel.
