In the present work, a traffic microsimulation study was carried out at an intersection located in the city of Pucallpa, at the intersection of two main avenues, Av. Centenario and Av. Colonización, which concentrate a high vehicular flow and presence of conflict points. due to the high incidence of motorcycle taxis. For this reason, the objective was set to evaluate and reduce conflict points through a microscopic model of the system with Vissim 9.0 software and present a proposal for improvement to the current situation by changing the traffic light cycle and incorporating restrictions at the intersection. adapted to non-conventional modes such as motorcycle taxis. The traffic microsimulation study was carried out in 4 stages. First, field measurements were carried out to obtain data on vehicle capacity, intersection geometry, travel routes and queue distances for each of the entrances. For the second stage, a microsimulation model was developed in Vissim 9.0 software to analyze the operational behavior of the vehicles. Subsequently, the improvement of the intersection's traffic light system was proposed. Finally, the results of the proposal and the comparison with the current reality are presented, achieving a reduction in points of conflict.
