The increase in popularity of guinea pig meat has generated greater interest in its breeding and consumption, making it an essential food in the Andean regions and extending its demand to other areas of the country. This motivated the implementation of a business project to raise, produce and market guinea pigs, with the purpose of promoting the economic development of Jaén – Cajamarca. Although there are numerous farms dedicated to this activity, the majority operate informally, which harms productivity and reduces competitiveness in the market. The entire guinea pig production chain has been exhaustively analyzed, from breeding and improving the usual procedures to the sales and negotiation phases. The objective is to understand the business chain and formulate the best functional strategy to launch a commercial project with a clear competitive advantage. In the end, the direction of strategic decisions is to affect the cash flow of the business and achieve profitability. In the economic and financial evaluation, the Net Present Value (NPV) method is considered to evaluate the viability of this venture. It is worth mentioning that the project has reached its peak at the time of sale.
