The purpose of this study was to analyze how the humor used in social advertising generates a more inclusive view of what disability is. The approach selected to carry out the study has been qualitative. The advertising spot "Stand Up with Purpose" was chosen as a case study because it presents three people with functional diversity with a humorous narrative, not common in advertising on disability. The research has a naturalistic paradigm, applies a qualitative methodology and a phenomenological design to obtain information about opinions and thoughts. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to address the research questions. Through the convenience sampling technique, 15 university students in their last cycles and/or graduates from 21 to 26 years of age from the districts of Bellavista, Carmen de la Legua and La Perla were contacted. The results indicate that the message of the advertising spot "Stand Up with Purpose" used with the humorous key together with a first-person narrative can transform the daily perception of society about functional diversity; that is, from dependent people to people with self-control and autonomy to make decisions.
