Economic inequality is one of the world's main concerns; however, it has not been possible to determine what are the factors that influence the difference in income of people. Monetary policy in recent years has shown that it has a positive impact on income distribution, reducing indicators of social inequality. According to the authors Coibion et al (2017), there is a differentiated impact on income inequality through five channels: income decomposition, financial segmentation, portfolio, savings redistribution, and income heterogeneity, and Siami-Namini et al (2020), find that it can have asymmetric effects on inequality in its transmission channels. However, the relevance of evaluating the social impact in this study lies in identifying the direct and indirect effects on the distribution of income in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru from 2000 to 2019. This research concludes that the policy Monetary through the interest rate and inflation has a positive impact on the unequal distribution of income. Likewise, suggests reducing inequality by implementing a contractionary policy via interest rate in the short term and via inflation in the long term with a Panel VECM model.
