The universe of Neon Genesis Evangelion has significantly influenced the audiovisual and animation industry thus, this research aims to highlight the importance of women in this anime. For this purpose, the main objective is to identify the features of Asuka Langley, Rei Ayanami and Misato Katsuragi in the series Neon Genesis Evangelion and the movie The End of Evangelion. Authors such as Schopenhauer (2009), were used for social relationships and to delve into the hedgehog's dilemma; Cloninger (2003), and his personality theory to investigate the psychology of the characters; and Laura Mulvey (1975), who talks about the feminist film theory. In order to collect audiovisual material, operational strategies were used with clear criteria that are linked to the objective of this research.
