The increase in the number of vehicles and the lack of devices that can control the flow of traffic causes road infrastructures to exceed the maximum capacity for which they were originally designed. In the section corresponding from San Luis Avenue intersection with Julio Bailetti Avenue to San Luis Avenue intersection with Javier Prado East Avenue, passing by De Las Bellas Artes Street intersection with San Luis Avenue, the vehicular flow is constantly slow. The parameters will allow an analysis of the current situation of the section, determine the level of service and delay times. With the help of Synchro 10 software, it will be possible to obtain the times and optimal traffic light cycle for the traffic light located at the intersection of San Luis Avenue and Javier Prado Avenue. Likewise, a model will be created in the Vissim 9 software, which will be calibrated and validated; also, in this software, options for improvements will be proposed, ranging from adding a traffic light at the intersection of San Luis Avenue and Julio Bailetti Avenue, adding a third lane on San Luis Avenue - De Las Bellas Artes Street section, or a combination of both options. Finally, the proposal to be chosen will be the one that efficiently reduces time delays at intersections, that includes noticeable improvements in levels of service and those results in better order and time savings for drivers who travel daily along the section to be studied.
