In Peru, the construction sector has evolved developing and incorporating innovative methods to reduce costs, time and improve the quality of materials through precast concrete elements. This industry has been classified for its dynamism, so it currently represents 24% of the contribution to GDP of the sector under study. Unlike the elements executed “in situ“, these are manufactured in a production plant with a series of exhaustive and strict quality control conditions. However, recent statistics show that there is a high rate of losses in the production process, specifically in the mixing area (10.5%) due to the inadequate work method, incorrect raw material dosage and poor use of spaces. This problem not only prevents the increase in total productivity, but also generates monetary losses due to the increase in total production costs. In this sense, to solve the identified problem, a continuous improvement model is proposed based on a combination of work standardization tool, ergonomics, supplier management, Sistematic Layout Planning under the Kaizen philosophy. The model was validated in a precast concrete company. Where a standardized procedure improvement was obtained in 35%, unnecessary movements and efforts in 20%, quality of raw material of 25% and improvement by redesign of the plant of 32.31%. This new solution proposal will make it possible to increase labor productivity, reduce defective products and improve the competitiveness of companies.
