Today, there are different social problems such as environmental pollution from solid waste. In this context, different brands have seen an opportunity to be part of or propose a solution to this problem and, also, as an option to develop their advertising strategy. This research seeks to know the perception of the participation of brands as activists in environmental campaigns and how it affects their brand image. For this, the case of “Make it for your beach“ was taken, a Peruvian initiative that raises awareness about the use of plastic and that every year calls for volunteers to clean different beaches in Peru. This study is developed from the perspective of volunteering and is analyzed from two categories: (1) Brand Activism and (2) Brand Image Perception. The naturalistic paradigm was followed, the design was the case study with a qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews through video calls. It was possible to identify that the participation of the brands was viewed positively, since there was a close relationship between the help function that they offered to the volunteers and the sensations they generated. However, they understand that behind taking their position with regard to caring for the environment, there was a “commercial” purpose which made their participation little credible.
