The mobile device access has been allowing the adolescents to stablish new tools into their pair relationship. However, it is necessary to consider that the side effects as well as positive and negatives of management, will influence in the consolidation of identity process. For that reason, the main objective of this research is to describe the relationship between the mobile phone addiction and the social abilities in adolescents, who participate in a catechesis group in Lima Metropolitan. In addition, the Mobile Phone Test (MPT) and the Social Abilities Scale was used for measuring the variables in the current sample, which was chosen by a non- probabilistic intentional method, using 141 young participants among 12 and 17 years old; whereof 79 were female and 62 males. In regard to the results, the correlation was .89 with one of the 2 TDM factors (Excessive Use), which indicate that a higher use of mobile phone, the more social abilities skills are developed for teenagers. This results represent a direct and significant effect, showing that the raising use of mobile phone might be an expression of social abilities.
