Objective: To determine the association between cervical disability with the hours of clinical practice in universities of the Dentistry career of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences in Lima, Peru. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional observational study was carried out in 147 university students of the Dentistry career that practices in the University Health Center during the 2018-1 cycle. For this study, two instruments were used to collect data, a self-applied file and the Neck Disability Index (NDI). For the descriptive analysis, the numerical variables were reported by means, median with their respective dispersion measures. For quantitative variables, they were reported by proportions. For the bivariate analysis, the Fisher's exact test was checked to measure the association between categorical variables and Kruskal-Wallis. For the analysis of variance, prior analysis of normality and homogeneity of variance. The calculation of crude and adjusted prevalence ratios is controlled with the Poisson regression model to control covariates and is considered a significant value at p< 0.05. Results: 147 dentistry students were included in the study, with an average age of 22.1 years ± 2.9 years with a greater predominance in females (74.2%). The prevalence of cervicalgia was 115 (78.2%). In relation to cervical disability, it was shown that 6.1% presented moderate disability and 44.2% presented disability level. In the multivariate analysis, an association was found between cervical disability and cervical pain in the last 3 months (p = 0.004), determining 4.8 times the probability of having cervical disability, with respect to the consumption of medications to reduce cervical pain (p = 0.049), determining 1.82 times greater probability of suffering cervical disability. However, there is no association between cervical disability and the variable hours of clinical practice. Conclusions: No significant association was found between cervical disability with hours of clinical practice per day in university students of the UPC Dentistry degree. A prevalence of 78.2% of cervical pain was determined in the university students of the degree, 19.1% reported a pain of medium intensity. Likewise, a 50.3% prevalence of cervical disability was determined in the population studied.
