Abstract: Determinar si el nivel de conocimiento del cuidador sobre anemia, el
grado de instrucción del cuidador, la situación laboral del cuidador y la
interrupción de los suplementos de hierro por infecciones son factores asociados
a la corrección de anemia en niños de 6 a 35 meses de edad atendidos en el
Hospital Albrecht de Trujillo.
Material y métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio observacional, analítico,
retrospectivo de casos y controles que evaluó a 234 niños de 6 a 35 meses de
edad que cumplieron con los criterios de selección establecidos, distribuidos en
dos grupos: con y sin corrección de anemia.
Resultados: en los niños con corrección de anemia, el nivel de conocimiento alto
del cuidador se presentó en el 80.8% (IC 95%, p<0,00), el grado de instrucción
superior universitario de los cuidadores en el 97.9% (IC 95%,p<0,00), situación
laboral no empleado en el 60.3% (IC 95%, p<0,01), y no se interrumpió los
suplementos de hierro por infecciones en el 65.4% (IC 95%, p<0,00).
Conclusiones: El nivel de conocimiento del cuidador sobre anemia, el grado de
instrucción del cuidador, la situación laboral del cuidador y la interrupción de los
suplementos de hierro por infecciones son factores asociados a la corrección de
anemia en niños de 6 a 35 meses de edad
