This research work was focused on designing a proposal to improve method engineering, applying the time study - using the Timing tool, to increase the productivity of the company Sodimac Home Center, taking into account the problematic situation of the company. The design proposal created shows how to apply Method Engineering, to avoid having a store that is underserved and with inadequate, disorderly distribution that could affect the company and thereby increase the productivity of the Sodimac Home Center store. Data collection techniques were used: direct observation, surveys, interviews, as well as instruments such as observation guides, questionnaires, registration sheets and interview guides. The study began by determining the problematic situation of the Sodimac Home Center store, through an Ishikawa diagram, a survey of field information and an analysis of initial labor productivity, The factor of Total Productivity was applied, This Indicator allows to know the full scale productivity of all the pallets worked and the elaborated time. Through its result, you can account for the increase or decrease that production has experienced in your process. It can be measured in physical or monetary units, in relation to a reference period that temporarily allows observing the increase or decrease in productivity achieved. The analysis was carried out with respect to the labor productivity variable before the improvement, applying the time study tool, including the timing, to conclude with the result, carried out to the replacement manager, it was obtained: 3.3790 pallets / hour allowing Determine the inadequate shortage of merchandise in the store, inexperienced staff, ignorance of information are potential causes for a decrease in productivity.Then a diagnosis of the design proposal was made of how to apply method engineering in the Sodimac Home Center store, followed by the diagnosis, the development that is being followed to increase productivity was shown Subsequently, the impact that the application of Method Engineering, applying timing, bimanual diagram, man-machine diagram, pres test and post test in the study of times, was obtained after the improvement of 4.8831 pallets / hour, identifying qualitative benefits such as achieving a better quality of service to the customer, motivated and trained personnel, better distribution of the merchandise in the different points of sale of the store. Finally, the budget and the economic impact that the improvement of the company would generate was determined, determining that the total cost to implement the improvement in the company is S / 3,468,000, likewise a hypothesis test was carried out, resulting in our study that (p = 0.000) <0.05, then we reject the null hypothesis and are left with the alternate hypothesis. It is concluded that the application of Methods Engineering will increase productivity in the replacement department of the Sodimac Home center company
