The pandemic produced by the SARS-COV2 virus has spread uncontrollably worldwide. The most effective prevention measure has been social distancing, from which the closure of all non-essential activities. Including future training doctors, forcing medical schools to make an abrupt change in their academic teaching plans. Given this, we refer to how medical education has been affected and the need for its continuity. We also describe previous experiences where medical education also had to stop dramatically and how it was able to maintain its continuity. Finally, we will make references about the educational theories and didactic strategies of virtual education in order to understand the bases of the educational tools that we currently have.
