The purpose of this research was to apply the queuing theory model to increase productivity in the customer service area of Banco de la Nación - Trujillo, which would allow optimizing the service time and eliminating the unproductive time resulting from the services provided by this entity. The project belonged to the type of applied research, with a descriptive research level. A series of techniques and tools were used, such as documentary analysis, time taking, and finally, as the main one, the time study in the attention process executed in the Banco de la Nación. The research had two moments, which were designed before and after applying the queuing system. For the first moment, the average time of attention per service was calculated with a value of 00:07:45, also the waiting time had to be taken into account, which helped us to determine how efficient were the 14 lines of attention that the entity presented, the result of this was 00:06:54. In order to indicate the current situation that the company presented, the productivity was determined with a value of 5.2 attentions per 100 minutes of effective man-hours. Then it was determined that the average time of arrival in the 4 types of services provided by the entity, in the research period achieving a result of 00:06:17, for this was justified the application of the queuing system, which is obtained 43% of elimination advisors, translated into 6 people who would not be necessary for a possible attention, for this was taken the condition of the simulation period with a total of 6923 attentions and a total of 192 hours that these advisors provided individually in 24 working days. With the application of this model, it would only be necessary to use 57% of the personnel currently working in this entity, which would be 8 consultants who should be selected in an appropriate manner, with various filters to help meet the institutional objective, as well as possible studies that may arise along the way. This application achieved a saving of S/.762140.16. in an annual projection, in effect the correct implementation justifies the purpose of the investigation.
