The fragmented QRS in the electrocardiogram is produced by heterogeneous myocardial electrical activation from regional ischemia, fibrosis or myocardial scar mainly caused by coronary artery disease. An analytical retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted to find the association between fragmented QRS and coronary atherosclerotic disease. We revised the clinical histories of the patients who undergo cineangiocoronography during the period January 2016 - December 2018. 93 clinical histories were reviewed and we found statistically significant association between fragmented QRS and coronary atherosclerotic disease (p: 0.000), the same result was also obtained through the chi-square test of criteria independence (16.34, p: 0.0001). Finally, other variables associated with the presence of coronary atherosclerotic disease were identified. Type 2 diabetes mellitus, serum triglyceride level and the presence of current acute myocardial infarction were also associated with fragmented QRS; Subsequently, a multivariate analysis was performed, finding a prediction model for the presence of coronary atherosclerotic disease, which obtained a 76.3% probability of predicting said pathology. It is concluded that the presence of fragmented QRS in the electrocardiogram this coronary atherosclerotic disease
