To assess whether anthropometric measurements are predictors of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) in university students from Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego (UPAO), Piura, 2020. Method: An analytical observational study of diagnostic tests was carried out, made up of 181 medical students from all cycles of UPAO- Piura in 2020, in whom the Berlin questionnaire was applied to determine the high risk of OSAS (HRRAOS) through a virtual questionnaire and subsequently anthropometric measurements were made such as weight, height, waist circumference (WC) and neck circumference (NC), percentage of body fat and waist/height ratio. Cut-off points, area under the COR curve, prevalence ratio, and diagnostic yield values of significant anthropometric measurements were calculated. Results: There was 12.15% of patients with HRRAOS, the average age was 19.5 years and the male sex predominated. Multivariate analysis showed that WC (PR: 1.08, 95%CI: 1.05-1.27) and NC (PR: 1.08, 95%CI: 1.01-1.17) are predictive anthropometric measures of HRRAOS, where the cut-off point of WC of 81cm and 37cm NC obtained areas under the COR curve of 0.917 and 0.726, respectively. Conclusions: ionic calcium is a predictor of complications in acute pancreatitis.
