This investigation has the objective of exposing an guide of the external state of the pavements between the Juan Velez de Cordova sector and the intersection of Andres Castello Street and Hipolito Unanue Avenue, since it was a sector seriously damaged by the overflow of the San Idelfonso ravine in the phenomenon of the child of the year 2017 being in this way that the state of the pavement can be checked by applying the method called PCI. Said method focuses on the structure itself, describing its state of conservation. This method is very convenient since its main field work is to visualize the entire pavement in order to subsequently begin its reconstruction. When carrying out the PCI method on flexible pavements such as between the Juan Velez de Cordova sector and the intersection of Andres Castello Street and Hipolito Unanue Avenue, it was taken into consideration that the average width of the roadway is 6.00 m. The length of the entire route is 2.7 km, which was studied and with respect to the PCI method, the extension was fractional into 229.8 m2 pilot units. Of all the evaluation was made 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60,65 sample units in which the inspection was made. In the respective on-site evaluation, varied category of failures were presented in flexible pavements such as: Crocodile skin, depression, edge crack, longitudinal and transverse cracks, Patching, Hollows, Aggregate Detachment in which the respective record of their longitudinal and transverse area using a winch, hand level, and some safety elements such as cones. The whole process was carried out through visits to the field for 3 hours where the time of nine in the morning was chosen. To conclude was decreed that the state index of the flexible pavement is at an average of 38.31, therefore its classification is a “bad“ state.
