The objective of this research is to validate whether the San Martin Port Terminal (Pisco) is an efficient alternative for importers of containerized load from Lima; front to Callao Port Terminal that has traffic jam outside the port. The first chapter contains the conceptual framework, which approaches topics about the procedures of imports and the current situation of the national port system. Then, in detail, there is information of every port: Callao and General San Martín (Pisco); such as commitments of the concession contract, services offer, up-to-date problems. As a final point, there is a comparative analysis of both ports in subjects about infrastructure, logistics services, time and costs. In the second chapter, there is specified the investigation methodology applied. Also, there is defined the aims, categories and segments of the research, and explains how to access to the context and to develop the investigation. After this phase, the interviews begin. Therefore, the third chapter contains the analysis of information and assessments of each segment obtained from the research’s field. In the fourth chapter, there is developed the data’s analysis, where the findings, barriers and gaps of the research are detailed. In addition, the conclusions and recommendations are specified, with those facts the investigation concludes.
