Abstract: El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar las tendencias genética y fenotípica para la producción de leche (PL) en vacas Holstein de un establo del valle de Huaura. Se utilizó el paquete estadístico ASREML, con el cual se definió el modelo operativo de mejor ajuste bajo los criterios de información Akaike y Bayesiano. Mediante el procedimiento máxima verosimilitud residual (REML), se estimaron la heredabilidad y repetibilidad, siendo los valores de 0.16 ± 0.03 y 0.28 ± 0.025, respectivamente. Para la estimación de los valores genéticos (VG) se utilizó un BLUP–modelo animal de medidas repetidas considerando como efectos fijos al número de parto, año-estación de parto, edad al parto (como covariable lineal y cuadrática) y como efectos aleatorios el efecto genético aditivo, el ambiente permanente y el error. Se evaluó un total de 2590 animales hembras para el cálculo de los VG, y se utilizó 2862 lactaciones provenientes de 1457 vacas, estandarizadas a 305 días y dos ordeños para el periodo 1999–2017. Los VG para la PL de las vacas y hembras jóvenes que permanecen actualmente en el establo tienen una media de +200.9 ± 16.1 Kg y +148.7 ± 9.7 Kg con más del 70 por ciento de valores positivos. Se estimó una tendencia genética positiva para PL de + 8.2 ± 1.6 Kg/año y una tendencia fenotípica positiva para PL de +294.3 ± 24.9 Kg/año. Se concluye que la PL ha experimentado un incremento debido principalmente a mejoras en el sistema de producción; además los VG de las hembras jóvenes sugieren que a futuro el establo puede incrementar la tendencia genética para PL.
The aim of this research was to determine the genetic and phenotypic trends for milk production (PL) in Holstein cows from a dairy farm in the Huaura valley. The statistical package ASREML was used, with which the best fit model operating under the Akaike information criteria and Bayesian was defined. By the residual maximum likelihood (REML) procedure, heritability and repeatability were estimated, with the values of 0.16 ± 0.03 and 0.28 ± 0.025, respectively. To estimate the genetic values (GV) an animal BLUP-model with repeated measures was used considering as fixed effects the number of calving, year-season of calving, age at calving (as linear and quadratic covariate) and as random effects, the additive genetic effect, the permanent environment and the error. A total of 2590 female animals were evaluated for calculating VG; and 2862 lactations from 1457 cows, standardized at 305 days and two milking for the period 1999-2017 were used. VG for the PL of the cows and young females that currently remain in the dairy farm have an average of +200.9 ± 16.1 Kg and +148.7 ± 9.7 Kg with more than 70 percent of positive values. A positive genetic trend for PL + 8.2 ± 1.6 kg / year and a positive phenotypic trend for PL +294.3 ± 24.9 kg / year were estimated. It is concluded that PL has experienced an increase mainly due to improvements in the production system; in addition, the VG of young females suggest that the dairy farm future can increase the genetic trend for PL.
